This Cozy Luxury home has two real wood-burning fireplaces and lots of firewood, three flat screen TVs with DVD players (some DVD’s provided... but please bring your favorites), natural slate floors, rustic wood on some walls, secluded setting, and more. The prominent local business owners are out west at Mt. Hood (Ski Race Camp) for the summer making this up-north family home available. Enjoy the pride of ownership in this fine home. This very cozy, comfortable home has many windows with views of the surrounding woods. There is also a fire pit in the back yard for entertaining, and a nice play set for the children! Sip wine or down your lemonade around the fire while your kids play on the swing set. The gourmet kitchen, a true chef's paradise, is open to the large family room and its stunning natural stone fireplace. This amazing mountain cabin style home is close to all the resort amenities and yet still nestled in the woods for a bit of privacy. This home has a true "medieval Castle" feel... note the photo of the custom front door (actually at the back of the home - towards the garden area and play set) as well as the rear of the home with it's white stucco and dark wood accents. The home is not as brightly lit as some more modern homes - but has some nice views from the windows much like a medieval castle. As our guest you are entitled to use the indoor and outdoor resort swimming pools at Schuss Village and the Summit, as well as tennis, walking trails and more. The screened-in sun porch is well stocked with Pier-1 style wicker furniture... a great place to take your morning coffee or wind down after a fun-packed day in the Shanty Creek Resorts. There is no cable or satellite TV in this luxurious, rustic get away home so don't forget your favorite DVD's. There are; however, many family-friendly shows pre-recorded on the TiVo on the main level - the large flat-screen TV next to the natural wood-burning fireplace. Also, this home is pet-friendly... just let us know in advance and Fido or Spot are welcome! If someone in your group has pet allergies please check out our Schoonhoven and SchmidHaus homes which are 100% pet-free... with all solid surface floors (wood, slate, marble, etc.) with area and throw rugs to dissipate sound and make the homes look nice.
Enjoy all that Northern Michigan has to offer - golf Arnold Palmer’s Legend, the Bear, Tom Weiskopf’s Cedar River course, or your other favorite Northern Michigan golf resorts. Swim indoors or outdoors at in Shanty Creek Resort’s pools. Or just curl up with a good book in front of the fire.
Shanty Creek is only 20 minutes from Boyne Mountain, and 40 minutes from Traverse City. This home is in the Schuss Village portion of the resort, between Schuss Village and the Summit (and the Lakeview Dining and Conference Center). Enjoy a sunset over Torch Lake (only 15 minutes away and voted one of the ten most beautiful lakes in the world by Natural Geographic magazine). Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix are only a half-hour. Sail on Lake Bellaire, or collect Petoskey Stones on the Lake Michigan shoreline. Lake Bellaire is just ten minutes away, so bring your boat; the launch is only a few miles from this medieval castle style home. From Lake Bellaire you can access the entire "Chain of Lakes" (Torch, Bellaire, Elk, Clam, and Skegemog). Stroll through small-town Bellaire and enjoy the laid-back resort-town atmosphere and local shops.Internet Access: Free wireless Internet is available at the Schuss and Summit Lobbies.
